Saskatchewan SINP: 175 positions filled in hours, 55% of annual allocation used

Saskatchewan SINP intake windows filled within hours on July 6-7, 2026, demonstrating the extreme competitiveness of the province's immigration program. Here's a detailed breakdown of what happened and what it means.

July 6 Intake Results:
- Trucking: 25 positions — ALL FILLED
- Retail Trade: 50 positions — ALL FILLED
- Accommodation: 50 positions — ALL FILLED

July 7 Intake Results:
- Food Services: 50 positions — ALL FILLED

Total: 175 positions filled within hours, zero remaining capacity across all capped sectors.

This follows the pattern set by January, March, and May intakes, which also reached capacity rapidly. Saskatchewan introduced a new intake system this year to manage limited nomination spaces in retail, trucking, accommodation, and food services. Employers can only submit Employer Position Assessments (EPAs) during six scheduled intake windows, with places allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

2026 Allocation Progress:
Saskatchewan has issued 2,628 nominations this year, representing 55% of its annual allocation of 4,761.

- Priority Sectors: 1,466 of 2,380 used (62%)
- Capped Sectors: 718 of 1,190 used (60%)
- Other Sectors: 444 of 1,191 used (37%)

Priority sectors are consuming at the fastest rate. With only half the year remaining, the September and November intake windows will likely face even more intense competition.

For employers and candidates, the message is clear: successful submissions now require a completed EPA ready before the intake window opens. The era of preparing materials on the fly is over — all documents, reference letters, and work experience proof must be ready in advance.
